StrikeServe Refund Policy

All sales are final. StrikeServe does not issue refunds.

This page explains why. It applies to every order placed on strikeserve.com — process serving, e-filing the Proof of Service, and skip-trace.

1. What you are paying for

You are paying for our attempts to serve, file, or locate — not for a guaranteed outcome. This is the industry standard for registered process servers. Each tier of process service includes up to three good-faith attempts by a qualified, registered process server:

Once we have begun the attempts you paid for, your purchase has been delivered.

2. Bad address, evasion, or non-existent recipient

If a server attempts service and the address is bad, the recipient has moved, the recipient is evading service, or the recipient does not exist at the location you provided, the service is complete. Your fee paid for the attempts. We do not refund because the attempts confirmed the recipient was not reachable at that address. This is the standard practice across the process-serving industry.

If you need a new address served, that is a new order at the standard rate.

3. E-file the Proof of Service ($40)

Once we have generated and filed the Proof of Service with the court, the $40 fee is earned. No refund.

4. Skip-trace ($50)

The $50 skip-trace fee pays for the lookup itself, regardless of what the lookup returns. We run the search the same day you order it. No refund once the search is run.

5. Cancellation

Orders cannot be cancelled for a refund once they are placed. If you placed an order in error, email Support@StrikeServe.com immediately and we will do our best to assist — but we make no guarantee that we can stop a job that has already been dispatched, and we do not refund.

6. Disputes and chargebacks

If you have a concern about an order, email Support@StrikeServe.com first. We respond to every legitimate inquiry within 2 business days.

If you file a chargeback without contacting us, we will respond to your card issuer with the documented evidence of work performed: GPS-stamped attempt logs, time-stamped photos, server attempt notes, and the signed Proof of Service (where applicable). The industry-standard rule — that the customer pays for attempts, not outcomes — is established and well-recognized by card networks for registered process-serving businesses.

7. California-specific note

In California, the cost of serving process is often recoverable by the prevailing party as a court cost in the underlying lawsuit. Whether your case qualifies, and whether to include the fee in a memorandum of costs, depends on your case and your jurisdiction.

StrikeServe is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Please ask your attorney whether the fees you paid us are recoverable in your matter.
